MAIMI'S BRAIN Vol.6

MAIMI'S BRAIN Vo,6

Today, I'd like to introduce a book after a long time.
I also love movies, and when I first created KOBINAI, there were times when I was saved by movies and learned and reflected various things from them.

Even now, I still make sure to watch movies, but I also love books.

I believe books are treasures.

I line books on my bookshelf, and when I'm troubled, I pick up a book that catches my eye and read it. Books always offer inspiration and advice at just the right time.

I bought this book about three years ago.
It was a time when I was asking myself, "What does it mean to live?"

I remember searching for books about "living" — something like "living book" — to see if there were any such works.

And that's how I found this paperback.

When I stopped by a bookstore the other day, it seems to have been adapted into a manga as well.
Since I read the paperback, I'll introduce that version.

This book was first published in 1937, and even now, 84 years later, I felt it's a book that teaches us essential things needed "now."

The historical setting is certainly old (which is also very interesting, as I imagine it playing out like a movie in my head).
It follows a young boy as he honestly reflects on and feels about things that happen in his life (daily life), and we consider them together.
I read through the story, relating it to myself.
And even though times change, the thoughts and feelings are exactly the same as today.

What would I have done?

What would I think?

And even if I don't know what I want to do,
I felt like I found the answer to "how I want to live" and "what kind of person I want to be."

And I thought that if more people pondered, found answers, and wanted to do something for others, the world would surely become a better place than it is now.

That's what I thought.
